  • Welcome to the World, Jasper!

Post by Jordan on February 3rd, 2012

A customer in Australia sent us this adorable story + photo and we had to share with everyone. We hope it makes your heart smile as much as ours did!

“I recently read that using a ‘Stress Ball’ to focus on during labour and delivery can really help a woman concentrate and can reduce pain. On the morning I went in to labour (3 weeks early) I sent my husband out to buy me a stress ball. He came home with a WABOBA ball. Purely as an example of the many varied uses of Waboba balls I wanted to email you this photo. The ball was all I had with me through the birth of Jasper. Enjoy.” -Nyree D.

Now, we shall call all babies born with the help of Waboba balls, Wababies! Many thanks again to Nyree for sharing her story with us. We hope Jasper grows up loving the ball that helped bring him into this world!

  • Waboba Day @ Surf at Night Festival, Cortegaça

Post by Leeroy on August 15th, 2011

We just had to be part of this exciting mixture of good music and sports at the Surf at Night Festival. Our champs, Team Beihaus, came over from Mangualde to show off their skills and teach others how to play. Needless to say, All Surf at Night fans that tried or watched us play Waboba loved it!

ML Aventura´s team were challenged by us to a game of Streetball, which they accepted. It was so competitive and exciting to watch. Also, the popular TV channel, Porto Canal could not resist us as they filmed the game and wanted to know all about Waboba.

The CCC Cortegaça camping spot will be holding a Waboba Streetball tournament this week. Although according to Beihaus, Streetball does not beat Waboba in water!

It’s incredible how many people have still not heard of Waboba. It surprises me daily. But due to all the excitement, it goes to show the Waboba games are here to stay and grow!

  • Show Us Your Waboba Contest

Post by Jordan on June 29th, 2011

A couple weeks ago, one of our fans, Diana, took her new Waboba with her on her trip to Brighton, England. It was going to be the first time she was going to play with it. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and rainy the whole weekend, but that didn’t stop her from playing with her Waboba in a different way! She made the most of it and shared her pictures with us on her blog, like this one…

Diana inspired us so much, we want to see where you take your Waboba ball(s) for this week’s Waboba Wednesday giveaway! Take a picture like she did and share it with us via Twitter – @wabobaballs or on our Facebook page – facebook.com/wabobaball. If you don’t own a Waboba, no worries. We got you covered. Just take a picture like this one when you imagine your Waboba napping on a hammock after a day at the beach.

We’ll be giving away a few prizes for creativity and coolness (that’s right, more than one prize), so show us your Waboba ball(s) – imaginary or real. Plus, in lieu of Fourth of July weekend and the excellent opportunity for someone to take a picture of their ball with fireworks in the background (hint, hint), contest ends Monday, July 4, 2011 at 11:59pm EST.

  • Waboba and +H2O Team Up

Post by Jordan on June 28th, 2011

We are very excited to officially announce our partnership with +H2O, a global community made up of water enthusiasts on a mission to promote clean water awareness. +H2O was founded by professional windsurfers, Levi Siver, Jake Miller, Keith Teboul, and Pascal Bronnimann and has grown to become a platform for water awareness that brings together a community of athletes, conservationists, non-profits and corporations to create purposeful solutions that facilitate positive change on a local to global scale.

Without water, we wouldn’t have Waboba. Not to mention the obvious –> we would we even survive. As the +H2O team says, “Water is our life force.” So its up to us, you, and everybody else to protect our natural playgrounds like the beach and ocean, and take care of them for future generations to come. So we’re going to team up with +H2O for events like fundraiser tournaments and beach clean ups. Even more exciting, we are going to create a special limited edition ball with 20% of proceeds donated to various water charity organizations! Oh yes.

Stay tuned for more! We can’t wait to help make some positive change this year with our new friends at +H2O. If you would like to help us and get involved, please email jordan@waboba.com.
